A week of 01.23-01.27

+
Lance gave a lecture on Bombe chest.
I read his article on Bobe chest in a Fine Woodworking book(Period Furniture) about 15 years ago.
I could easily recognize his enthusiasm on this topic.

++
I finished through dovetails on a case, and dry fitted it.
I marked dado lines by using a story stick, and will make them with the help of an instructor next Monday.

A week of 01.16-01.20

+
Lance gave a lecture on drill press and mortiser
I realized that a drill press could be a monster too.

++
The lumber for the Tool Chest project was lough-sized and lough-milled, and began to be stickered under my bench.
I am currently working carcase through dovetailing.
Life goes on.

A week of 01.09-01.13

+
Lance gave a lecture on tambours.
I like Seymour's furniture a lot, one of which is a tambour desk.
I was most excited to hear this lecture.

++
My project had an serious accident this Monday.
The top fell down to the floor and got several deep dents, and the drawer also fell down and got dents and splited(broken) along the bottom groove.
I worked(or struggled) hard 13 hours on Tuesday and fixed it up. ;-)
I got a favorable review from Dan and Steve on this Shaker night stand and now it's over.

A week of 01.02-01.06

+
Lance's demonstration of Shellac application.

++
Lance's lecture on birds' cages and battens for a tilt-top table.

+++
I went a lumberyard with Paul today to bring lumber for the next project, a tool chest.
My primary and secondary wood will be mahogany and yellow poplar.

++++
I really struggled with shellac this week.
Lance, John, Brian told me about shellac application, and their approaches were all different.
I made several mistakes and had to completely sanded 5 times, and planed/scraped/sanded one more time.
I was very frustrated but learned a lot from the mistakes.
I applied a couple of more shellac on the top today, just hope this one will work out.
