A week of 09.24-09.28

+
The candle stand is currently undergoing finishing process.
The redwood veneer is very brittle and hard to work on.
Tens of places were fixed by shellac stick.

++
The muntins moldings were applied.

+++
Lance gave a lecture on dentil.

++++
Right after the Lance's lecture, I made a dentil and finished cornice moldings.

+++++
Spline slots of cornice and base were cut.
Dovetails of the base were made.

The bookcase needs dovetails of cornice, gluing-up cornice and base, muntins bar installation, fitting doors, glass cutting, glass backing bar installation, ship-lap backs, and finishing.
I hope I can finish both candle stand and bookcase projects next week.

A week of a machine maintenance workshop.
Matt gave the instruction and 13 students(Alta, Nathalie, David, Paul, James, Ben, Nick, Evan, Matt(2), Grant, Lisa, Annette, and me) worked together to set up machines.
A little crowded but very helpful. However my bench time was very limited because of it.

++
The center inlay of the candle stand was made.
Edge banding was glued up.
Cove along the underneath of the edge was made.
The center inlay was applied.
The oval top was almost finished.

I'll address the pop-out problem of the redwood veneer by shellac stick next week.

+++
Moldings of the bookcase that needed a shaper was done.
Side moldings of the door was cut to length and mitered at the both ends and to the center moldings.
