A week of 5.06-5.10

+
Made string inlay on legs, stopped dadoes and lap joints on drawer dividers, and dry fitted desk parts.

++
Glued desk side assemblies, applied doublers, and check straightness and flushness.
Glued up desk.

+++
Sequentially install desk structural parts including drawer guides, runners, kickers, and screw blocks.

The jewel-like enameled drawer pull hardwares of the original Seymour desk were manufactured in Bilston, England.
However the company does not make them anymore, and I could not find any source for them.
I decided to make them by myself.

Brock Jobe, a professor of the Winterthur Museum, kindly sent the images of the drawer pulls of the original Semour desk at my request.
I made plaster domes, and made fake enamel paintings by decoupaging the images on the plaster domes.
Joan Parcher made brass hardware for the drawer pulls for me.

Everyone, including Lance, was very delighted to see this beautiful reproduction of the drawer hardwares.

+++++
Spent some time to catch up chippendale chair making.
Fitted and dry assembled legs.
